Volunteering Opportunities

The Windmill Allotments in Brixton need volunteers to help us preserve this historic site, which has been dug for 100 years. We need help to regerate the allotment communities and to encourage our intergenerational project.

We offer opportunities to volunteer in many ways, including assisting the disabled or more elderly gardeners. We produce a seasonal newsletter have a regularly updated website, and hold educational meetings.

We currently require assistance in the following areas:

• Database, secretarial, website management, volunteer co-ordinator (role share possible)
• Befriending and assisting our elderly visitors from Windmill Lodge Care Home
• Organising and archiving our large collection of photographs
• Planting, watering, digging and general maintainence of the allotment site
• Assistance with office administration
• Other administritive duties including finance officer, researcher, PR officer and volunteer co-ordinator
